Welcome to the first ever web page dedicated to the Rotisserie Sports Club of West Jones High School, Laurel, Mississippi. This page is designed to update the statistics, standings and rosters of each team in each sport throughout the year. At West Jones, we had a total of 15 leagues in six professional sports during the 1996-97 school year. Our membership consisted of over 100 students and teachers. We hope for the club to continue to grow again this coming year. If you wish to join a league or have any questions about our club, please use the link at the bottom of the page to e-mail our club sponsor. There is no real money used in any of our leagues. It is just for fun and education. Thanks for visiting our home page.

West Jones Rotisserie Club Year End Awards

1997 ABL Player of the Year was West Jones standout Carolyn Jones of the New England Blizzard. Carolyn was the Mississippi State Player of the Year here at West Jones during the 1986-87 school year. We are very proud of her accomplishments and her generous donations of both time and monetary gifts to the West Jones basketball program.

1997 NFL Player of the Year was Mississippi's own Brett Favre of the Green Bay Packers. Favre led the NFL in individual rotisserie points last season.

1997 NHL Goaltender of the Year was Buffalo Sabers goaltender Dominik Hasek. Hasek led the surprising Sabers to a 2nd seed in the Eastern Conference. He was a runaway leader in rotisserie points last season.

1997 NHL Player of the Year was Brendan Shanahan of the Detroit Red Wings. He led the league in power play goals and ranked in the top 3 skaters in rotisserie points.

1996 MLB Player of the Year was Alex Rodriguez of the Seattle Mariners. Rodriguez was a very pleasant surprise for the Mariners and has continued to play well in 1997.
